Egg Custard (Natillas de Huevo)

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 eggs yolks
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 lemon peel
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 marie biscuits
  • ground cinnamon

Directions

  • In a big bowl, beat the yolks, the sugar, the milk and the cornstarch
  • Pour this mixture in a saucepan and add the lemon peel without the white layer
  • Cook over a high flame
  • Take the saucepan out of the flame, remove the lemon peel from it and distribute in bowls
  • Let them cool down and when lukewarm, cover them with marie biscuits. Dust custard with ground cinnamon and refrigerate for 2 hours at least
  • Try egg custard with Pedro Ximenez Sherry wine. Amazing!!
